|1. The First Photograph Ever Taken From the Clouds|
Era: 1907 & Earlier Publisher: Anonymous
|From the Aug 30, 1906 Des Moines Register & Leader: For the first time in the world's history, photographs of the earth were taken from an airship yesterday. At a height varying from 300 to 600 feet, the daring navigator of the air, Charles K. Hamilton, successfully took several photographs of the scenes about the state fairgrounds. |
While it is true that photographs have been taken from balloons and even from aeroplanes, never before have they been successfully taken from an airship. (Note: the airship was the Roy Knabenshue airship).
